Gemani Games and Puzzles was started in 1991 by Roger Mustoe. Since then Gemani’s main outlets have been the Craft Shows that we attend all over the United Kingdom although the proportion of sales made over the internet is increasing rapidly.
We’re based in the town of Gosport, Hampshire a county in Southern England.
The original range that were offered for sale were made from Beech but customer demand led to a switch being made to using a non-endangered tropical hardwood called Samanea, more commonly known as Raintree. Cut and polished, this has an attractive appearance not dissimilar to teak. As far as we know we are the only company importing unfinished lumber of this type into the UK. All timber products sold by us are made from non-endangered timber.
We’re all personally interested about what we do and make here at Gemani and particularly passionate about puzzles. The desire to ‘tinker’ with things, to see how they work or how they’re made is surprisingly common and a quality that we believe should be encouraged in people of all ages and of both sexes. In many ways puzzles are a reflection of life itself, often easy enough to dissemble but much more challenging to hold together or rebuild. Above all we want to help people to have constructive fun.
One of the things people often say when they meet us for the first time is that they’ve never seen so many different games and puzzles. Over the years we have produced over 280 different items and try to add a few more each year. Inevitably some have been deleted along the way but we admit our range is still somewhat daunting when seen for the first time.
This variety is customer driven. The two most often phrases that we hear are ‘What have you got new?’ or in the case of the puzzles, ‘I want something even more difficult than last time!’ We try our best to oblige so the range just keeps expanding. If people are a little lost as to what to choose then we’re here to help and advise. Customers are our lifeblood, no customers no business, we try to remember that...always.
All the items are covered by our 12 month guarantee details of which may be found on the Site Information Page
We try hard to give a fair and above all human service to all. If you feel we aren’t then please tell us! We promise to do our best to rectify the situation. If you’re not happy with any of our goods please feel free to return them within 7 days for a full refund or exchange but please note that they must be returned in the original packing and be in as new, undamaged, condition.
The products that we sell are all made by hand. Although, we use power tools, saws, routers, planners, sanders and drilling machines nothing is computer controlled or automatically set.
Much of the work, including packaging and printing is done ‘in-house’. This way we can ensure the quality of our products is maintained to the high level that we have set ourselves and still retain manufacturing flexibility.
This flexibility allows us to produce special items for promotional purposes although our chief constraint is one of time. Please contact us however and we will do our best to help you.
